Shakespeare at the Globe:

Our performances of Shakespeare at the Globe theatre in Prague represent our commitment to, and acknowledgement of, the history of theatrical traditions; specifically balancing the immediacy and openness of Elizabethan theatre with strong physicality and technical skill. Divadlo Miloco was the only theatre company to create new productions specifically for the Globe theatre in each of its first two seasons. Further, while our devised work is designed for touring, our Shakespeare productions reflect our commitment to creating theatre in our home city. Divadlo Miloco's Shakespeare productions offers a chance for audiences to experience Shakespeare in an Elizabethan theatre in the original language, with a strong emphasis on re-creating the exciting, carnival-esque atmosphere required for the architecture of the Globe to work as a performance space. The productions also provide an excellent educational opportunity for students of English, literature, and drama.
