Soutěž anglicky psaného dramatu

Mosaic Theatre v USA pořádá soutěž pro dramatiky zaměřenou na prezentaci nových, především zahraničních textů přeložených do angličtiny. Informace o soutěži: grants@ccscc.org

Mosaic Theatre is accepting submissions for the Staged Reading Season.

 

Plays must be:

ˇ Translated from another language, or

ˇ Originally written in English by US residents / foreign playwrights

Mosaic Staged Reading Season's goal is to have American audiences discover foreign playwrights, and to serve as a stepping-stone for foreign playwrights to have their work produced in the United States.

When submitting a play, we ask you to follow these guidelines:
ˇ Plays that has been produced and plays that have received a staged reading must be accompanied by proof of production (e.g., programs, reviews)
ˇ Plays may be of any length and may be on any subject. However, preference will go to work that supports peace and social justice, and sheds light on religious, spiritual, and cultural differences and issues.

SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS:

ˇ One page letter of intent to the attention of Sarah Albertson, Literary Manager
ˇ Two cover pages one with title, your name, address & phone number; the other with title only.
ˇ Synopsis/Description: Brief synopsis of the play, no longer than half a page, bound into script.
ˇ Cast Breakdown (i.e. 5M, 6W) and brief character descriptions, bound into script.
ˇ Running Time; Set Design; Prop List
ˇ Musicals: you may submit a CD or cassette tape. Do not submit sheet music or scores.
ˇ Scripts must be standard size, typed/word-processed, numbered, & securely bound in a (preferably soft) cover, in standard professional play format. Write to Samuel French Inc. for their format guidelines, or copy from

Legal clearance of materials not in the public domain is the full responsibility of the playwright.

All submissions will be handled with care. However, Mosaic Theatre assumes no responsibility for lost or damaged scripts. All plays will be considered. Mosaic Theatre may recommend plays for production and/or publication.
