Culture 2000: PROJECT

We would like to introduce our developing project called "Folk Music & Dance +10" for the European Union Culture 2000 Programme in support of cultural heritage.

The project aims to promote the mutual understanding of the common origins of the European folk music and dancing tradition through a transnational cooperation network involving cultural organizations of Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Poland, Rumania, Slovenia and Greece. At the same time, it is a warm welcoming to the important cultural heritage of these countries.

The project involves the organization of several lectures and seminars regarding folk cultural heritage as well as the organization of a Grand Folk Music and Dance Festival in Greece (Fthiotida & Lesvos) where the folk heritage of each country will be thoroughly presented providing grounds for better understanding of their cultural patrimony as well as for building up of a common code for the future.

For the realization of this project, we are looking for cultural organizations of the above mentioned countries to join our effort either as co organizers or as partners.
