Mezinárodní divadelní festival Sirenos v Litvě
Od 23. září do 4. října 2005 se v litevském městě Vilnius koná druhý ročník Mezinárodního divadelního festivalu Sirenos.
Jeho moto zní: "New reality - new theatre - for what kind of audience?" a klade si za cíl představit provokativní a vyzývavé soudobé evropské divadlo a zároveň podpořit kulturní partnerství mezi jednotlivými zeměmi. Leitmotivem letošního ročníku je sociální divadlo.

Dear all,
Let us to inform you about the second International Theatre Festival SIRENOS and it’ s initiated Lithuanian theatre showcase, which will take place in Vilnius, Lithuania, on September 23 – October 4, 2005.
The festival aims to present provocative, challenging, contemporary European theatre, and promote cultural partnership as a value. „New reality – new theatre – for what kind of audience?“ – this is the working motto of SIRENOS. The festival analyses the interrelations between parts of the „reality – theatre/art/fiction – audience“ triangle. The main topic of the 2005 festival is social theatre (for more information see the attachments).
Going back to Lithuanian theatre case, during few days you will have a possibility to see around 10 latest performances directed by internationally acclaimed Lithuanian theatre creators, as well as to find out the new names of the emerging young generation. Please find attached description of selected productions, the schedule of shows and the registration form.
What we can offer you
We will arrange translation of all the performances (into English) and will help you to meet theatre makers you may wish.
We will be happy to provide you with free theatre tickets.
We can provide a limited number of guests with free accommodation.
We can offer you 4 star hotel in the centre of the city (for more information go to www.centrum.lt) at a special rate (for around 43 euro per night).
What you should do
Please contact us if you are interested to come to Vilnius. Your early signal will help us a lot in further organization.
And make a notice if free accommodation is crucial for you.
You should write to Ada Paukstyte, administrator of Lithuanian theatre showcase (info@sirenos.lt). Later on Ada will contact you personally with further information.
And please feel free to distribute this information to everybody who may be of interest in recent developments in Eastern European and especially in Lithuanian theatre.
Please, pay attention that the dates of Lithuanian performances can change, but not the period (29.09 – 03.10, 2005).
