Světová premiéra představení There Where We Were taneční skupiny DEJA DONNE a ocenění Total Theatre Award

Taneční skupina DEJA DONNE prezentovala své nové představení s názvem There Where We Were ve světové premiéře v rámci festivalu Tanzwerkstatt Europa 2003 v Mnichově. Ve dnech 8. a 9. srpna 2003 se uskutečnila dvě premiérová představení ve zcela vyprodané Muffathalle.

Představení There Where We Were byla následně prezentována ve třinácti reprízách na festivalu ve skotském Edinburghu. Soubor DEJA DONNE byl jediným reprezentantem české divadelní scény na tomto festivalu, kde se během letošního srpna uskutečnilo celkem 21549 představení na 207 jevištích.

Během edinburghského festivalu bylo představení There Where We Were oceněno prestižní cenou Total Theatre Award, kterou uděluje grémium divadelních kritiků a profesionálů britské umělecké obce.

Představení There Where We Were vznikalo od února letošního roku za podpory Ministerstva kultury ČR, ve spolupráci s Dance4 Nottingham / Velká Británie, JOINT ADVENTURES Mnichov / Německo, Teatro Kismet Opera Bari / Itálie a Pražským komorním divadlem.

Česká premiéra se uskuteční v rámci Mezinárodního festivalu nového tance Konfrontace dne 13. října 2003 v divadle Komedie.

Die Choreographen der Truppe Simone Sandroni und Lenka Flory, haben ins Schwarze getroffen. There Where We Were vereinte Leidenschaft mit grosser Tanzkunst. Schon als Masako Noguchi und Teodora Popova mit Feuer und Prazision die vielfaltigen Gefuhle vorfuhrten, aus denen eine Zweierbeziehung bestehen kann, staunten die Zuschauer in der Muffathalle. Doch nachdem Simone Sandroni die Menage a Trois als Mann vervollstandigte, herschte nur noch atemlose Stille.

DEJA DONNE (Czech Lenka Flory and Italian Simone Sandroni) is unsparing in its depiction of the shifting power play between the compact Sandroni, sensual Teodora Popova and fierce Masako Noguchi. With surgical precision the three grip, grab, roll and slap their way through THERE WHERE WE WERE, a wordless drama of convulsive physical tirades, controlling seductions and stalking oppression. Nothing false or showy here, but a tantalizing hint of punitive gladiatorial exhilaration.

When the lone man enters the arena, these possibilities multiply and become more complex. Poignant, subtly erotic and depicted through innovative gestures, these pas de deux variations combine a kind of martial arts force of energy with pregnant pauses and emotional eloquence. The piano and trumpet score is equally conversant in both sentiment and silence as it skillfully moves between harmony and cacophony. All three performers have extraordinary stage presence, even when outside of the main frame, although the women's duets are particularly compelling. This may not be the loudest dance show around but it is certainly one of the classiest.
