ccBe 16 september 2005 festival for young, exciting dance
ccBe, DWH / .t Danswerkhuys, and ICAROS productions are organising on 16 september 2005 the Dream Shot festival in Antwerp, Belgium: a night-long festival were young, emerging choreographers will get the chance to show their work to a large audience. Dream Shot is under the artistic directorship of Marc Goossens and Georges Vanstreels.
Call for submissions:
We are looking for projects by young and new choreographers who would like to show their work to a large audience. All sort of dance projects are eligible (solos, improvisation, performance, dance video etc.) as long as the principal medium used is the body.
There is no festival theme or imposed guideline. Our only prerequisite is that the work be above all exciting, new, refreshing, and challenging. We are especially looking for work which breaks with today.s trends in dance and art in general, work which wants to experiment and discover new territories.
How to apply?
We welcome all project proposals, but deadline for final submission is 31 july 2005. Candidates will be notified in early august about the jury.s decision.
What about practical issues, like costs, transport, accomodation, technicians,.? As the festival will host a big number of artists, we are not able to pay selected artists a per diem or a performance fee. However, the festival does cover your expenses, comprising travel costs and possible accomodation. European artists living outside the geographical area of Western-Europe are asked to send their application as soon as possible, so that we can help them in applying for a transport funding from their own country. Artists living outside the European Union are also strongly encouraged to apply some weeks in advance of the July deadline.
